Kolkata, Aug 1 (IBNS): With an objective to restore the glory of management education in India and to bring forth concrete solutions to several questions surrounding the future of Indian MBA education, MBAUniverse.com has announced the 5th edition of its 'Indian Management Conclave (IMC)'.

It will be attended by academicians from across the world including, Howard Thomas from Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University; Pankaj Ghemawat from IESE Business School, Spain; Ricardo A. Lim from Asian Institute of Management, Manila; Robert Kennedy from IVEY; Eileen Peacock from AACSB International; C Delporte, from EFMD Brussels; Bill Ridgers from The Economist, London; policy makers and influencers such as Sunil Kant Munjal from Hero MotoCorp; Subramanian Swamy, former Union Minister of Commerce & Industry & Senior BJP Leader; SS Mantha from AICTE; R Srinivasan from Department of Higher Education, MHRD, GoI; H Chaturvedi from Education Promotion Society of India and Directors from top Indian MBA B-schools such as ISB, IIM Indore, NMIMS, SP Jain among others.

In addition to this, the occasion will also see the IMC Awards 2014 finalists presenting their case-studies, which will include presentation by Deans of IIMs, XLRI, SPJIMR, NMIMS, Symbiosis.

There are several workshops happening during the two-day conference on Curriculum Development, Business Simulation, Case Study Teaching, MBA Education in SAARC Countries: Roadmap for collaboration’.

“We all know the challenges facing Indian MBA education rather well. The first four Indian Management Conclaves held between 2010-2013 had extensively highlighted the key issues such as policy conundrum, miss-match in demand & supply of MBA seats, lack of Employability of MBA graduates, and a focus on delivering quality education that have eroded the credibility of Indian MBA education. Indeed, a lot needs to be done – at a macro, policy level. However, we all need to first do the doable – take actions which are within our ‘Circle of Influence’, and not wait for things to settle down”, said Amit Agnihotri,  Convener, Indian Management Conclave & Chairman, MBAUniverse.com.
