While rescue operations continue in HP, more landslide news comes in from Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): While rescue teams continued with their search operations on Monday at the site of the landslide in Himachal Pradesh, two areas in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand were also affected by landslides, according to media reports.

A cloud burst resulted in landslides in Malpa and Mangri in Uttarakhand on Monday and several people have been reported missing, local media said.

Three people died and five others – including four Army personnel – were feared killed, reported Hindustan Times.

There have been reports of landslide in Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, which left two people dead.

Meanwhile, rescue teams of army, NDRF  and state police continued with their search operations on Monday in the Kotrupi area of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, according to media reports.

A massive landslide triggered on Saturday night washed away two buses and several smaller vehicles, local reports said.

President Kovind expressed his sorrow over the incident and said, "Heartfelt condolences on loss of lives due to landslide in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh."
