A mother came out in support of hundreds of premature and critically ill infants whom she will never meet by donating more than 300 litres of breast milk.

The woman, who made the humanitarian contribution to help infants, was identified as 33-year-old Selva Brindha.

The mother of two is a homemaker based in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli district.

According to reports, she has donated 300.17 litres of breast milk over a span of 22 months from April 2023 to February 2025.

She donated the milk to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) Milk Bank.

Hospital authorities told News18 her donation accounted for nearly half of the total breast milk collected by the bank during the 2023–24 period.

Her contribution helped the homemaker write her name in the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
