Kolkata/IBNS: SETU Sverige Foundation, a Sweden-based charity, has lent support to India’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic, with procurement of oxygen concentrators and oxygen cylinders among other things.

The charity has been working to provide various kinds of aid since the first phase of the pandemic, such as helping immigrant workers and their families by providing them with essential items, providing protective equipment to frontline COVID-19 workers such as doctors and police, etc.

During this second phase, they are procuring oxygen concentrators and oxygen cylinders in cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata as well as setting up month-long COVID-19 awareness and prevention camps in Odisha.

Apart from COVID-19 related works in Jamnagar (Gujarat), Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) and Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh), they also provided relief to flood victims in Assam last year in association with IIT Guwahati students.

SETU primarily works with organizations which are registered under FCRA (Foreign Contribution (regulation) Act.

One of their sustained projects include an initiative named Angel Guardian, where they map brilliant yet financially challenged children from India to interested guardians in Europe.

The Angel Guardians cover and sponsor their academic expenses.
