South Korea: 6th Zika case confirmed

Seoul, July 1 (IBNS): South Korea on Friday confirmed sixth Zika virus infection in a woman, media reports said.

Country's local health authorities told media that the person had returned from the Dominican Republic.

The 28-year-old South Korean woman has tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus after returning home from the Dominican Republic on June 23, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) was quoted as saying Yonhap News Agency.

According to news agency report, the woman was staying in the Caribbean nation from June 2014 and entered South Korea via the United States and Taiwan.
