Poachers killed second rhino in past 7 days in Kaziranga

Guwahati, June 19 (IBNS): Poachers continued its killing spree in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park (KNP) as another one horned rhinoceros was killed at the world heritage site on Saturday night and fled with its horn, officials said on Sunday.

According to the reports, poachers killed a female rhino near AathKathoni and Chepakhowa forest camp under Bagori range office inside the national park.

“Forest guards had found a dehorned bullet injuries carcass on Sunday morning,” a forest official said.

It is the 10th rhino which were poached in the state this year so far.

On June 7, poachers killed a female rhino in the national park when Assam Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma and her two colleague cabinet ministers had visited the world heritage site.
