Quetta: As many as 32 suspected cases of Omicron infected people have been reported from Balochistan's Kalat district in Pakistan, media reports said on Wednesday.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), however, has not yet confirmed any cases of the strain in the district, reports Geo News.

Kalat District Health Officer (DHO) Nasrullah Lango confirmed the number of reported suspected cases, saying that the samples taken from the suspected patients have been sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad for confirmation.

He said none of the suspected cases have travel history.

The DHO was quoted as saying by Geo News that the suspected patients include a woman who recently delivered a baby.

He said the condition of the patients are stable.

He said they are currently in quarantine in homes.
