Monsoon showers lash parts of Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Jul 6 (UNI) The southwest monsoon showers lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh in past 24 hrs as it advanced in the hill state, MeT office said on Saturday.

Banjar of Kullu received 55 mm rainfall, Dharmshala of Kangra 44 mm, Shimla 28 mm, Gohar of Mandi 25 mm, Pandoh 21 mm, Gaggal of Kangra 17 mm, Khadrala of Shimla 15 mm, Bijahi of Mandi 14 mm and Jogindernagar 11mm.

Kumarsain, Kotkhai in Shimla and Pachhad in Sirmaur 10 mm each, Kandaghat of Solan and Kufri of Shimla 8 mm each, Theog, Mashobra and Una 6 mm each, Palampur in Kangra 5 mm, Nagrota Surain 4 mm, Baijnath and Janjehli in Mandi 3 mm each.

The Met Office warned of heavy rainfall in many parts of mid and foot hills in next 24 hrs.

The weather department also predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on July 8 and July 9 in the various parts of the state.
