Malaysia reports 3 new COVID-19 cases

Kuala Lumpur/Xinhua/UNI:  Malaysia reported three new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing the national total to 8,590, the Health Ministry said.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that all the new cases are local transmissions, of which two are foreign nationals and one is Malaysian.

Of the 283 remaining active cases, three are being held in intensive care and none of those are in need of assisted breathing.

Another nine people have been released after being cured, bringing the total cured and discharged to 8,186 or 95.3 percent of all cases.

No new deaths have been reported, leaving the total number of deaths at 121.
