Maharashtra reports 2,760 Covid cases, 5 deaths in 24 hrs

Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra reported 2,760 Covid-19 cases and five deaths in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin reported on Sunday.

With these new cases, the state's cumulative case tally has surged to 79,98,673 and the death toll stands at 1,47,971.

At least, 3499 people were discharged, taking the overall count of recoveries to 78,34,785.

The state's recovery rate has significantly come down to 97.92 per cent and the fatality rate stands at 1.84 per cent.

At present, there are 18,672 active cases in the state.

Meanwhile, in the Marathwada region, 236 cases were reported, 118 in Jalna district, 59 in Aurangabad district, 27 in Osmanabad district, 26 in Latur district, 4 in Nanded district and 2 in Beed, the bulletin added.
