Maharashtra: 30 people, who attend Covid-19 patient's funeral, test negative

Sangli/UNI: Thirty persons, who were placed in institutional quarantine after attending the funeral of an infected patient, have tested negative for the COVID-19, stated Collector Abhijeet Chaudhari on Friday.

The fatality occurred in Mumbai after which the body was transported to the native of the deceased, and the last rites were performed in Kherade-Wangi village here on April 19.

On April 22, Mumbai authorities intimated Sangli administration that report of the deceased has been received confirming that the individual was infected from the contagion.

In an immediate preventive step, the mourners who attended the funeral were placed in quarantine, and their swab samples were sent for testing, he said, adding that their reports were received this morning.
