Kolkata hosts TB-free India: Creating awareness on MDR TB

Kolkata, May 9 (IBNS): Rotary International District 3291Rotary and Club of Calcutta Victoria in association with14 other Rotary Clubs joined hands to present a District Seminar "TB-free India: Creating awareness on MDR TB" at Hotel Park Plaza here recently.

The speakers included  RD Dubey, Chair, IMA South Calcutta Medical Association, Kavita Ayyagiri, Project Director ( Challenge TB), International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, Shiva Shrestha, Tech Advisor Challenge TB, Gitanjali Saha, Director, GRECALTES and the City TB Officer Dr. Pal.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan endorses the cause of a TB Free India as a TB survivor.

JN Gurtu, District Coordinator Community Service Medical gave the welcome address and the District Governor Shyamashree Sen also addressed the gathering. The host club President Rtn Arvind Agarwal offered the vote of thanks.
