Jharkhand records fourth COVID-19 case

Ranchi/UNI: Jharkhand has recorded its fourth confirmed case of Coronavirus as a woman has tested positive for the disease.

The patient is a 54-year-old woman who hails from Hindpiri area of the state capital. The woman had come to RIMS to get her test done where she tested positive after which she has been shifted to Covid-19 isolation ward located at Trauma Centre of the hospital.

Health Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni has confirmed the news. The woman had come in direct contact with the Malaysian woman who had first tested positive for Coronavirus in Ranchi. The house of the woman is a few meters away from where the Malaysian woman was staying.

Jharkhand had reported its first confirmed case of Coronavirus on March 31 from Hindpiri area where a Malaysian Woman associated with Tablighi Jammat had tested positive. On April 2 a man from Hazaribagh who had returned from Asansol of West Bengal had tested positive while on April 5 a woman who had returned from Bangladesh had tested positive for Coronavirus.

So far of the four patients who have been tested positive for Coronavirus in the state include three women and a man.
