Jammu and Kashmir: KMI conducts Sono-Lab workshop

Srinagar: Khyber Medical Institute (KMI) Sunday conducted a Sono-Lab workshop in collaboration with AVATARpointing care of Ultrasonography in Nephrology.

Director SKIMS, Dr A G Ahanger was the Guest of Honour while HOD Nephrology SKIMS, Mohammad Ashraf, HOD Urology Kidney Hospital, Prof Muneer Ahmad Khan and Prof Saleem Najar Senior Nephrologist were the chief guests at the function.

Dr. Aadil Beigh, Interventional Nephrologist was the course director of the program and conducted a live workshop on the Ultrasonograhy of Dialysis Vascular Access.

The workshop was conducted to provide hands on training to the vascular surgeons and nephrologists for the Ultrasonography of arteriovenous fistula.

Executive Director, AVATAR Foundation Dr Aadil Beigh said: “Association of Vascular Access and Interventional Renal Physicians (AVATAR) is a foundation which aims in the field of high end skill development for efficient, cost effective health care delivery. This is the first time it has happened in Jammu and Kashmir in a private sector and the motive behind was to train the doctors in the valley.”

“The main focus of the workshop conducted today was to provide hands on practice with the basics of Ultrasonography knobolgy, probes, modes, image orientation and documentation and USG Doppler,” he added.

Director SKIMS Dr A G Ahanger encouraged the youngsters to join such academic sessions in Kashmir.

He thanked the experts for taking keen interest and providing necessary support required to ensure the physical health growth of the [people.

The workshop was also attended by the faculty of Khyber Medical Institute, Dr. Aijaz Arshad, Nephrologist, Dr. Syed Asrar Qadri, Cardiac Surgeon, Dr. Showkat Shah, Senior Critical Care Specialist, Dr. Tasneem CVTS and Dr. Akhter Ganai, Senior Laparoscopic Surgeon and other CVTS colleagues of the medical institute.

On the occasion Dr. Aadil Beigh, Interventional Nephrologist was felicitated. The event concluded by distribution of mementos amongst the participants.
