Jammu and Kashmir: DC Baramulla takes stock of Bird flu mitigation measures

 Srinagar: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to take stock of various mitigation efforts launched by the district administration to curb spread of Bird flu infection in the district.

On the occasion, a threadbare discussion on the subject was held wherein the DC directed the concerned authorities to strengthen surveillance mechanisms in affected areas so that appropriate measures are taken in case of any exigency.

He also directed them to conduct random sampling and stressed for working in coordination for intensifying surveillance within the notified zones.

Meanwhile, DC also directed the disinfection process in vulnerable areas so that the risk of infection spread is mitigated.

He also directed to ensure that the requisite guidelines issued, are followed in letter and spirit so as to safeguard the poultry birds and human lives from the infection. SSP Baramulla Ab Qayoom, JDP, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, CMO, ACD and various other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
