The CMS-01 satellite was lifted off from the second launch pad of Sriharikota Space Centre at 15: 41 hours by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and placed in the orbit flawlessly.

This was ISRO's second successful mission during the pandemic while the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) performed its 52nd mission overall.

Media reports said the CMS-01 is expected to work in the Extended-C Band of the frequency spectrum covering mainland India, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands.

On November 7,  ISRO had launched PSLV-C49 (EOS-01) earth observation satellite and nine private spacecraft, which was its first mission amid the pandemic.
