Indigenously developed COVID-19 test kit receives CDSCO approval

Pune/IBNS: A Pune-based diagnostic company has received commercial approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) for its COVID-19 test kit, said media reports.

It is the first "Made in India" coronavirus test kit to receive approval from CDSO.

Mylab Discovery Solutions on Monday announced the development, said a Times Now report.

The kit meets  WHO/CDC guidelines, company officials haved said, the report added.

The indigenously made Mylab PathoDetect COVID-19 Qualitative PCR kits will cost only one fourth of the kits currently being procured, the company has said.

Mylab's COVID-19 test kit will detect the infection only in 2.5 hours as compared to current 7 hours.
