India reports nearly 39,000 Covid-19 cases, 443 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India, a country of 1.3 billion people, reported nearly 39,000 Covid-19 cases and 443 deaths due to the virus on Monday.

In 24 hours between Sunday and Monday mornings, the country has added 38,772 new infections taking the tally to 94.31 lakh.

1,37,139 people, who were infected with the virus, have so far died since the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus in late January this year.

Among 36 states and union territories, Maharashtra, Kerala and Delhi are the highest contributors to the tally of infections.

Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the development of three vaccines at three facilities in Pune, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
