India reports 23,529 COVID-19 cases, 311 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: In a spike in daily coronavirus cases, India reported 23,529 new infections while the toll increased by 311 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated Thursday.

The active cases now account for less than 1 per cent of the total cases.

The active caseload is now the lowest in 195 days.

In 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 28,718 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate is presently at 97.85%, the highest since Mar 2020.

In a brighter picture, India has already administered 88.34 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses under the country's national vaccination drive.
