India reports 11,919 new COVID-19 cases, 470 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: A total of 11,919 people have tested positive for COVID-19 during the past 24 hours in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.

As per the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,44,78,517 while the death toll rose to 4,64,623 as 470 succumbed to the virus.

On a positive note, 11,242 more people have recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,38,85,132.

The recovery rate stands at 98.28%, the highest since March last year.

The cumulative active caseload now stands at 1,28,762 less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.

According to the bulletin, 62.82 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

Meanwhile, India has administered 114.46 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
