India records 90000 new COVID-19 cases, surpasses Brazil to second highest infected country

New Delhi: India has recorded 90,000 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the tally past 42-lakh mark.

India also became the country with the second highest number of COVID-19 patients, surpassing Brazil .

India has recorded over 42.04 lakh COVID-19 cases.

In the past 24 hours, 1016 deaths have been reported.

The total deaths due to the disease in the country now stands at 71642.

There are 882542 active cases at present.
