India records 26,567 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 26,567 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 97,03,770.

India is one of the worst COVID-19 hit nations in the world. 

During the same period, 385 people died due to the highly infectious virus which is believed to have originated from China.

The total deaths in the country due to COVID-19 now stands at 1,40,958.

There are 3,83,866 active cases in the country at present.

In the past 24 hours, 9178946 people have been discharged from hospital.
