Hamirpur/UNI: Out of 370 samples sent from Hamirpur to IGMC, Shimla and Tanda Medical College for testing against COVID-19, as many as 251 have been found negative, District Magistrate Harikesh Meena said here on Tuesday.

He said that during last three days, a total number of 370 samples of primary and secondary contacts of two persons who were found positive earlier were sent for testing. Of these, 251 have been found negatives, 10 samples have been found invalid and 12 have been repeated.

Meena said that 68 more samples have been collected for testing till noon today. Police and health department monitoring teams are working in coordination with local administration and various departments to find the primary and secondary contacts of both the infected persons including their travel history.

He noted that about 90 per cent people have been screened under the special active case finding campaign released in the Containment and Buffer Zone of the district.

A certificate was being obtained from the panchayats about the information of the people who have returned from outside. After this, if a person was found to be entering anywhere illegally or illegally, strict action will be taken against him/her, he added.
