Dry run for Covid vaccination in UP from Saturday

Lucknow/UNI: The Uttar Pradesh government will test its preparedness for Covid 19 vaccination in the state from Saturday.

On Saturday, a dry run of vaccination would be held in 5 places in the state capital while on Jan 5 it will be done in the entire state.

State additional chief secretary health Amit Mohan Prasad said here on Friday that tomorrow in Lucknow dry run would be held at CHC Mall and Malihabad, Sahara hospital, KGMU, Ram Manohar Lohia hospital and SGPGI.

He said on January 5, the dry run for vaccination would be done in all the medical colleges and district hospitals in the state.

Prasad said that the government was taking all steps to make foolproof arrangements for the vaccination.

"Government has ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in all the vaccination storage rooms and in other places where the process would be completed," he said.

Prasad said over 2,500 sample tests of Covid have been done on the people who have returned to the state from the UK after Dec 9.

"There is nothing to worry about the spread of Corona from the people returning from UK," he said.

Meanwhile, fresh cases of Covid 19 has further come down to 871 on Friday and the recovery percentage has gone up further to 96.21 per cent.

There are still 13,831 positive patients in the state in which 5,924 are in home isolation, 1,291 in private hospitals and the rest in government-run covid hospitals.

Till date over 5 lakh, health teams have covered 3.10 crores houses under surveillance and have checked the heath of over 15.08 crore people.
