Delhi records 3,009 fresh Covid cases, 252 deaths

New Delhi/UNI: Delhi registered 3,009 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 252 deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours, a health bulletin said here on Friday.

The positivity rate in the national capital is 4.76 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.62 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the active cases have reached 35,683 but a total of 7,288 patients also recovered in the past day.

The fresh cases came from a total of 63,190 tests, comprising 45,685 RT PCR/CBNAAT/True Nat and 17,505 rapid antigen tests, conducted in the last 24 hours.

The total cases in Delhi have reached 14,12,959 while the death toll now stands at 22,831.

As per the official data, 13,680 Covid beds are available in hospitals, 5,744 in dedicated Covid Care Centre, and 515 in dedicated Health Care Centres.

The health bulletin said 77,594 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the past day, which included 56,375 first dose recipients and 21,219 who were administered with the second dose.

Delhi is under a lockdown since April 19 with only emergency and essential services open.
