Dead fish clutter lake in the middle of Bengaluru

| | Mar 07, 2016, at 08:38 pm
Bengaluru, Mar 7 (IBNS) Thousands of dead fish were found floating in Bengaluru's Ulsoor Lake on Monday morning but no reason has been cited for the same, according to media sources.
Ulsoor lake, located in the middle of the city, is a popular boating centre but has been struggling with increasing pollution of its waters in the recent past.

According to local media reports, the dam, which was protecting the lake from being a sewage dump, broke two years ago and has not been repaired since, which has led to sewage accumulating in the lake.

Residents also complain of the stink.

A few years ago, a major drive was made to clear Ulsoor Lake of water hyacinths.
