COVID-19: West Bengal sees biggest one-day spike of 3,035 cases, 60 more deaths

Kolkata/IBNS: With highest-ever single-day spike of 3,035 infections, West Bengal's Covid-19 tally on Friday reached 1,10,358, including 26,850 active ones, 2,319 deaths and 81,189 discharges, reports said.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal Health and Family Welfare (WBHFW) department, in the last 24 hours, 60 more coronavirus related fatalities were reported while 2,572 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different health facilities across the state, taking the recovery rate to 73.57 per cent from 73.25 per cent.

Officials said that West Bengal had tested 12,48,272 samples till date with a record number of 3,1317 tests conducted in 65 testing facilities in the state in the past 24 hours.

Presently, 2,696 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 34,037 people are under home surveillance in the state while 1,865 persons are in 200 government-run safe homes.
