Covid-19: West Bengal reports biggest single-day spike with new 1,344 cases, toll crosses 900

Kolkata/IBNS: Registering the biggest single-day spike with fresh 1,344 infections in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal on Saturday mounted to 28,453, including 9,588 active cases, 906 fatalities and 17,959 recoveries.

According to a bulletin issued by the state health department, in the last 24 hours, 26 more deaths were recorded in the state while 611 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different health facilities after treatment.

Covid-19 recovery rate in Bengal has further dropped to 63.11% from earlier 63.99%.

West Bengal has tested 6,05,370 samples till date with 11,403 tests being conducted in 52 testing facilities across the state in the past 24 hours, reports said.

Currently, 4,805 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 32,460 people are under home surveillance in the state.
