Covid-19: West Bengal reports 435 new cases, 17 deaths today

Kolkata/IBNS: In a massive jump in Covid-19 cases, West Bengal reported 435 new cases and 17 deaths in 24 hours on Saturday.

The data of the state's health ministry stated with the new cases, the overall Covid tally now stands at 7,738.

17 new deaths took the toll to 311.

The active cases in West Bengal are now 4,236.

West Bengal has been reporting a massive surge in Covid cases in the last one week.

The surge came particularly after the cyclone Amphan hit the state on May 20 as the social distancing norms were violated in most parts of the state following the calamity.
