COVID-19: Seven more test positive in Panchkula, tally at 14

Panchkula/UNI: Two days after a 44-year-old woman from Sector 15 here, who had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus, seven more persons from her family were declared infected on Thursday.

The sector was sealed on Wednesday.

The woman, who was tested positive on Tuesday, reportedly had no travel history.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, while speaking to the media, said that the woman had travelled to Pathankot on March 18.

"We have contained the area according to the protocol and continuously sanitising it", he said.

He further apprised that the woman was having symptoms from March 18 to April 2, but she informed the civil hospital on March 11.

With these seven fresh cases, COVID-19 count in the Panchkula city has now abruptly risen to 14. So far, two people have been discharged, according to the latest Haryana Health Department bulletin.

The state of Haryana has now 213 positive cases of nCoV, including 14 Italian nationals and 149 active cases.
