COVID-19 cases spike in India: Four more people die in past 24 hours

New Delhi: Four people lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection during the past 24 hours in the country while active cases increased by 832 in the same period.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with the increase of 832, a total number of active cases has reached 9,433.

With four new deaths, two each in Gujarat and Maharashtra cumulative figure of the deceased stands at 5,30,831 now.

The good news is that 1,051 infected patients have recovered during the past 24 hours.

Gujarat saw the biggest rise in active cases with as the coastal state recorded 238 new patients, while Maharashtra recorded 193 cases and Kerela had 125 new cases.

Active cases increased by 56 in Himachal Pradesh, 48 in Karnataka, 47 in Delhi, 33 in Tamil Nadu, 32 in Haryana, 14 in UP, 12 in Goa, five in West Bengal, four in Chhattisgarh, two in Sikkim and one in MP.

With 7,955 people vaccinated during last 24 hours, overall 2,20,65,52,279 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far.
