COVID-19 cases near 30,000-mark in India, death toll stands at 937

New Delhi/IBNS: The number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now standing at 29,974, as per the Ministry of Health released data on Tuesday.

The country now has 22,010 active cases, the government released data said.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 937.

As many as 7,026 patients have been cured or have been discharged from medical facilities.

Meanwhile, the Indian government on Tuesday said using plasma therapy for COVID-19 treatment is currently in an experimental stage and there is 'no evidence to support that it can be used in treatment'.

"The Indian Council of Medical Research has stated very clearly that currently there is no approved therapy for COVID19 including Plasma therapy," Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said during the daily press briefing.
