Covid-19: Aurangabad reports 206 new cases; tally surges close to 6k

Aurangabad/UNI: As many as 206 new COVID-19 cases were detected here on Thursday, pushing the district's pandemic tally closer to 6,000 mark, informed authorities.

These new cases are found a day after a record 217 persons were confirmed to be infected, with eight fatalities on Wednesday.

Among the new patients, 171 are from limits of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation while the remaining 35 come from interiors of the district, they added.

So far, Aurangabad has tallied 5,988 cases, out of which, 2,857 are cured while 271 others have died of the contagion.
