Covid-19: 63 new cases reported in Puducherry

Puducherry/UNI: As many as 63 people were tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus here in the last 24 hours taking the total number of active cases to 459 on Thursday.

According to the Puducherry Health Department, 60 new cases were reported in the Puducherry region and three in Karaikal.

They said that 52 were admitted to the government medical college, eight to Jipmer and three to Karaikal government hospital.

Meanwhile, 30 patients were discharged.

At present, 250 were being treated at the various hospitals and Covid care centres including four outside Puducherry (2 in Cuddalore and two in Villupuram).

They added that, so far 802 persons were infected by the virus of which 331 were treated and discharged, and 12 died leaving 459 active cases in hospitals here.
