Covid: 11 fresh cases, tally 169 in UP's Jaunpur

Jaunpur/UNI: With 11 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours, the number of people infected by the Novel Coronavirus rose to 169 in this Uttar Pradesh district.

District Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Singh on Saturday here said that 11 more migrants tested positive in the past 24 hours and all of them have returned from Gujarat and Mumbai.

Now, the total number of cases in the district have increased to 169, out of which 25 have recovered and were discharged.

Three other people had succumbed to the infection even before reaching the hospital.

A total of 141 active patients are currently undergoing treatment in the district.

The DM said that reports of 118 samples were obtained on Friday night and all of them tested negative.

The reports of 11 migrants were also received who tested positive. 275 new samples have been taken and including them, 3893 individuals have so far been tested in the district, out of which 2,745 reports have been obtained.

Results of 1,094 samples are awaited.
