Coronavirus outbreak: Haryana records one death, 28 fresh cases

Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana reported one more death and 28 fresh cases of Novel Coronavirus on Sunday, taking the state's death toll to ten and confirmed cases tally to 689.

According to the official Health bulletin, a 72-year-old woman, resident of sector 28, Faridabad, succumbed to the deadly virus, raising the death toll to ten in the state.

Out of 28 new cases, Sonepat district has reported 11, followed by Faridabad seven, Bhiwani three, Panchkula two and Nuh, Rohtak, Kaithal, Palwal and Chari Dadri districts one fresh case each.

Of the ten fatalities till now, three deaths each have been reported from Panipat and Faridabdad districts, two from Ambala district, while one death each was reported from Karnal and Rohtak districts.

Gurugram tops the tally in the state with 142 confirmed cases, followed by Sonepat 100, Faridabad 95, Jhajjar 74, Nuh 60, Ambala 41, Palwal 37, Panipat 36, Panchkula 22, Jind 17, Karnal 14, Yamunanagar eight, Fatehabad and Sirsa seven each, Bhiwani six, Rohtak five, Hisar and Mahendergarh four each, Rewari and Kaithal three each, Charkhi Dadri and Kurukshetra districts recorded two cases each.

Out of 56,983 samples, 689 have tested positive and 51,046 negative, while reports of 5,234 were awaited. There are 393 active cases in the state.

A total of 300 patients, including 57 from Nuh, 55 from Faridabad, 51 from Gurugram, 33 from Palwal, 18 from Panchkula, 14 from Sonepat, 11 from Ambala, 10 from Jhajjar, eight from Paniat, five from Karnal, four each from Sirsa and Yamunanagar, three each from Bhiwani and Hisar, two each from Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Jind and one patient each from Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri districts have been discharged from hospitals, so far.

A total of 37,515 patients have been put on surveillance till date, out of which 23,049 have completed their surveillance period and currently only 14,466 patients are under surveillance.

Meanwhile, apart from 689 positive cases, 14 Italian nationals in the state had tested positive. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test came out negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason, the bulletin added.
