Children Science Congress: Kalam interacts with chidlren

Mumbai, Jan 4 (IBNS): Former Indian president Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam on Sunday said he wished to see children opting for a carrier in science in the coming future.

"I wish young buds of today think of opting for a carrier in science in the coming future with a vision to be innovative in their thought and acting for the eradication of diseases to serve the human being," he said.

Former President and Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam said at the Children Science Congress which was inaugurated here in the Mumbai University Complex.

Kalam said, "I see the young fellows in future as new scientists engaged in different disciplines of Science."

Kalam reiterated that technology is the backbone of future building.

He cited different examples of use of new technologies in medical areana.

He said inventions and discoveries have been generated from creative minds with imagination.

"And all this should be used for ensuring quality life for all citizens across the globe with access to Green fuel, lessened bad effects of climatic changes and enhanced use of solar power on a very large scale," the former Indian President said.

He said children of today will have to play a great role in solving the problems of humanity at large and to generate awareness in this regard events like National Children Science Congress are an apt forum for visualising such dreams to achieve excellence in their actions embedded with clear vision.

Kalam also felicitated nine children from across the country with the INFOSYS awards.for their innovations on this occasion.
