Bangladesh registers its fifth COVID 19 death
Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladesh on Wednesday registered its fifth death due to COVID 19 infection as the country continued to fight against the disease which has extended its killer hands to more than 160 nations across the world.
The number of infected patients remained unchanged at 39 as no new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, said the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research on Wednesday, reported bdnews24.
Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of IEDCR, confirmed the fresh death in the country while addressing the media via video conference.
She said seven people have recovered from COVID 19 in the country.
Bangladesh, like its neighbouring India, is assumed to be heading towards a lockdown as the government declared a shutdown of all offices with a 10-day general holiday from Mar 26.
The government also stopped local trains, passenger launches and domestic flight services across the country since Tuesday.
The COVID 19 outbreak, which was first reported from China, has now touched nearly all countries across the globe.
