Bangladesh: COVID-19 death toll crosses 7000

Dhaka: Bangladesh recorded 34 new fatalities in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll due to COVID-19 in the country over 7000, media reports said.

With the latest figure, the number of total fatalities stood at 7,020, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune in its daily virus update this afternoon.

The death toll crossed 6000 on Nov 4.

Another 1,329 people tested positive for COVID-19 until 8 am Saturday, taking the tally of infections so far to 489,178, the government was quoted as saying by bdnews24 in a statement.
