Assam reports four more COVID-19 positive cases, state tally surges to 214

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam on Friday has registered four more COVID-19 positive cases taking the state tally to 214.

The new cases have been reported from Sivasagar, Lakhimpur and Udalguri districts.

Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, out of four new cases, two cases were reported from Sivasagar and one each from Lakhimpur and Udalguri districts.

He tweeted, “Two persons from Sivasagar in quarantine at our Jorhat centre are found #COVID19 +. Total cases 214.”

The state has reported 214 COVID-19 cases so far and out of them 54 patients were discharged from hospital.

The state has now 153 active positive cases for the new virus.
