Assam: Health Department conducts Covid-19 mock drill in Government and Private Health Institutions

Guwahati: In line with the Covid-19 mock drill held all over the country, the Health Department, Assam has successfully conducted the mock drill in the state.

A total of 1264 Government Health Institutions (9 Medical College and Hospitals, 24 District Hospitals, 16 Sub-divisional Civil Hospitals, 204 Community Health Centres and 1011 Primary Health Centres) and 177 Private health institutions conducted the mock drill in all the districts of Assam. 

The drill is to ensure operational readiness for management of Covid-19 with special focus on Health Infrastructure, Oxygen Plants, Ventilators, Logistics, ICU, beds, consumables among others.

Earlier Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed a VC with all states on 23 December, 2022.

In this regard MoHFW had advised all states to be on high alert to deal with any possible outbreak and emergency situation in the country.

The Ministry of Health has also advised all states to significantly increase genome sequencing. 

Union Health Minister had also previously urged all the states to step-up testing, to increase community vigilance, increase vigilance in all international airports, increase the administration of precaution doses and to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour at all times. 

It is mentionable here that Assam has all the required logistical support, consumables, beds, oxygen status, ICU and other necessary items to deal with any emergency Covid-19 situation.
