Another COVID-19 positive in Assam

Guwahati/UNI: A new positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Assam today, taking the tally of patients to 27.

State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has confirmed the detection through Twitter.

The minister wrote: "Alert Rs one more #Covid-19 positive case from Dhubri District has been confirmed, taking the total number in Assam to 27."

He further said this patient is also related to the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at

Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi last month.

Out of the 27 COVID-19 patients in the state, 26 are linked to the Nizamuddin Markaz event.

The lone patient without association with that event is a businessman from Guwahati.

Golaghat district has reported the highest number of cases so far with nine confirmations.
