TVS Motor Company posts 18 pct sales growth in September 2018

New Delhi, Oct 1 (IBNS):Automobile giant TVS Motor Company on Monday said it has registered a sales growth of 18 percent with sales increasing from 359,850 units in September 2017 to 423,978 units in the month of September 2018.

Two-Wheeler:

Total two-wheelers registered a growth 17% with sales increasing from 350,854 units in September 2017 to 410,696 units in September 2018. Domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 18% from 307,160 units in September 2017 to 361,136 units in September 2018.

Scooter sales of the Company grew by 17% from 121,601 units in September 2017 to 142,562 units in September 2018. Motorcycle sales grew by 16% with sales increasing from 143,923 units in September 2017 to 166,489 units in September 2018.

Exports:

The Companys total exports grew by 20% from 50,971 units registered in the month of September 2017 to 61,192 units in September 2018. Two-wheeler exports grew by 13% increasing from 43,694 units in September 2017 to 49,560 units in September 2018.

Three-Wheeler:

Three-wheeler of the Company grew by 48% increasing from 8,996 units in September 2017 to 13,282 units registered in September 2018.

Second Quarter Sales Performance:

During the second quarter of the current financial year, two-wheeler sales grew by 14% increasing from 9.2 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 10.5 lakh units in the second quarter of the current year. Sales of three-wheelers of the Company grew by 57% from 0.25 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 0.40 lakh units in the second quarter of the current year.
