New Delhi/IBNS: Countering opposition claims, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on Wednesday addressed the Parliament and said the country's growth may have dimmed a bit but there will not be any 'receission' ever.

She said the country will not face it.

"If you are looking at the economy with a discerning view, you see that growth may have come down but it is not a recession yet, it will not be a recession ever," the Minister said in the Parliament.

The Minister made the remark while participating in a debate in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of slowing economic growth and Opposition's charge that the economy of the nation was in a state of recession.

The Indian government is gearing up to release the gross domestic product (GDP) data on Friday.
