Tata Motors strengthens ties with Symbiosis International, launches 2nd batch of Post Graduate Management Program

Pune, July 30 (IBNS): After the successful launch of its Post Graduate Management Program at Jamshedpur, in partnership with Symbiosis International (Deemed University), auto-mobile giant Tata Motors on Monday said it has started the second batch at Pune (EPGDBM).

The 2nd batch of Managers from various functions will undergo comprehensive General Management Program covering Operations, Finance, People Management, Supply Chain, Marketing etc.

The focus is to sharpen Managerial skills at multiple levels in the organization.

The partnership with Symbiosis is helping provide avenues for collaborative research, content development and knowledge exchange between industry and academia.

Aligned with company’s strategic objective, the program aims at developing talent and nurturing Managerial Skills of budding Engineers and other professionals at Tata Motors.

"The EPGDBM program comprises of 4 semesters over 24 months where the program pedagogy involves concepts learnt in the classroom and applied on a real-time project in diverse functional areas across Tata Motors. Apart from honing their capabilities, this program will also go a long way in addressing the aspirations of these engineers to complete Management education from a top ranked institution," read a statement issued by Tata Motors.

The launch of Pune batch was graced by Pro Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, who has played a crucial role in cementing the partnership with Tata Motors, by working out a highly customized design, best suited for the working professionals in the manufacturing.

Speaking at the occasion, Gajendra Chandel, Chief Human Resources Officer, Tata Motors, said’ “Today, business landscape has become very dynamic and there is increasing influence of disruptive technologies and social media shaping our lives. Hence, it is important for us to prepare a future ready work force that is world class, strategic yet adaptive, has razor sharp business sense and innovative to lead the vibrant eco system in the market place. This partnership with Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is a win-win opportunity that will help us push the boundaries of learning for our Managers and help in create a repository of case studies and related teaching capabilities. The combined force of industry and academia working together is a powerful engine for innovation and value creation leading to higher economic growth. We are simultaneously gearing up to roll-out more such collaborative tie-ups with Academia to develop industry-ready resources.”
