Mumbai/IBNS: Shares of commercial vehicle major Tata Motors climbed nearly 6 per cent on the BSE on Thursday following a sharp rise in the company's net profit during the first quarter of FY27, media reports said.
The stock surged to a day's high of ₹485 per share on the BSE after the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹2,560 crore for Q1 FY27.
Net profit rises 83%

Revenue grows 23%
The company's revenue from operations stood at around ₹19,329 crore, registering a 23.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
The strong quarterly performance was supported by higher domestic demand and improved volumes across key commercial vehicle segments.
Domestic volumes, exports rise
Tata Motors' domestic volumes increased 26 per cent year-on-year, while exports grew 35 per cent during the quarter.
The rise reflected stronger demand across the company's commercial vehicle portfolio.
EBITDA margin at 11.7%
The company's EBITDA margin stood at 11.7 per cent during Q1 FY27, around 60 basis points lower than the year-ago period, amid higher input costs.
