Sensex up by over 100 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex continued to rise on Friday as it rose 127.61 pts to 67,646.61, a new high in opening trade, following gains in banking, real estate, and technology stocks.

The NSE moved up 44.45 points to 20,147.55.

The midcap rose by 0.42 percent and the small cap by 0.58 percent.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.

The gainers were HCL Technologies by 1.59 pc to Rs 1304.05, Tata Motors by 1.44 pc to Rs 633.35, HDFC Bank by 0.96 pc to Rs 1657.20, and Maruti Suzuki by 0.76 pc to Rs 1578.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.25 pc to Rs 3198.90, Hind Unilever by 1.04 pc to Rs 2475.60, IndusInd Bank by 0.55 pc to Rs 1449.20, and Axis Bank by 0.51 pc to Rs 1015.45.
