Sensex falls by 106.91 points

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI): The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange remained negative for the seventh straight session on Thursday as it dropped by 106.91 points at 37,682.22 as heavy selling was seen in Materials, Energy, Industrials, Auto and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slipped by 33.25 points to 11,326.20.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 37,780.46 and 37,564.87 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,357.60 and 11,290.90 points respectively.

The losers were NTPC by 2.63 pc to Rs 127.55, Reliance Industries by 2.46 pc to Rs 1267.50, HCL Technologies by 1.25 pc to Rs 1118, HDFC Bank by 1 pc to Rs 2285.55 and Powergrid by 0.95 pc to Rs 187.75.

The gainers were Yes Bank by 4.88 pc to Rs 168.50, HeroMoto Corp by 1.59 pc to Rs 2640.50, Bajaj Finance by 1.41 pc to Rs 2963 and ICICI Bank by 0.81 pc to Rs 384,95.
