Sensex advances by 136 pts

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday surged by 136 points at 36,578.65 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 44.35 points to 11,031.80.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,640.27 and 36,456.82 respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,052.45 and 10,998.85 points respectively.

The gainers were VEDL by 2.31 pc to Rs 179, ICICI Bank by 2.13 pc to Rs 370.05, Bajaj Finance by 1.85 pc to Rs 2744 and SBI by 1.61 pc to Rs 280.50.

The losers were HeroMoto Corp by 1.50 pc to Rs 2754.65, Axis Bank by 1.35 pc to Rs 722.25, Tata Motors by 0.98 pc to Rs 192.10 and Yes Bank by 0.91 pc to Rs 235.15.
