Samsung unveils Galaxy A8, the slimmest of the galaxy series

Kolkata, August 4 (IBNS): Samsung Electronics, a smartphone manufacturer, on Tuesday announced the launched its new smartphone Galaxy A8 in India.

“We are really excited about the newest member of Galaxy A family. Our insights have show that design and camera are the key factors for consumers in this price segment. The Galaxy A8 marries sleek design, powerful performance and enhanced imaging capabilities to bring superior smartphone experience,” said Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile, Samsung India. 

The Galaxy A8 is the slimmest Galaxy which measures 5.9 mm in thickness with 5.7-inch full HD display Super AMOLED display. The phone has a all metal body, 16MP rear, 5MP front camera with F 1.9 lens and a 3,050mAh battery.

Following the S6, the Galaxy A8 also features a fingerprint sensor integrated with the phones home button. 

The phone is powered by a Octa Core (1.8GHZ Quad Core + 1.3 Quad Core) with 2GB RAM which ensures managing multiple tasks. The device has 32GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB.

In terms of connectivity, the new Galaxy A8 supports 3G, 4G (both FDD LTE and TDD LTE). Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The phone is priced at INR 32,500($507) and is available in white, black and gold.
